spa day?
a weekend to exhale.
I have always loved spas. Whenever I travel, especially outside the country, I try to make a spa day part of the experience. There is something about stepping into a sauna, sitting in a steam room, and allowing myself to slow down that makes a vacation feel complete.
The spa I visited in Greece is still my favorite. Nothing has topped it yet, but that has never stopped me from searching for the next experience that might come close.
This time, I wasn’t looking for a major vacation. I simply wanted a peaceful spa weekend and a chance to step away from everything for a moment. I left on Saturday and returned Monday, making it a short getaway, but it gave me exactly the reset I wanted.
The Room Was an Experience of Its Own
I didn’t capture much footage inside the spa or around the hotel, but the room itself was good enough.
It had a balcony, a beautiful spa tub inside the bedroom, and an incredible double shower. I brought Dr. Teal’s Soothe & Sleep lavender foaming bath with me, filled the tub, and allowed myself to enjoy every second of it.
Between the tub, the shower, the balcony, and the quiet, the room became its own private retreat. It was one of those stays where I didn’t feel pressured to constantly leave the hotel or fill every minute with an activity. The point was to rest.
The Spa and the Room Service
The spa itself was beautiful, and my massage therapist did an amazing job. They also had a sauna and what appeared to be a heated relaxation or hydrotherapy pool. I didn’t capture any footage of that area, and I ultimately decided not to use either one. Since I already had a private jetted spa tub waiting for me in my room, I didn’t feel like I needed anything more.
The room service, unfortunately, was not nearly as impressive.
The portions were generous, and the food was edible, but the pastas was almost completely tasteless.and the mash potatoes were an absolute no. The burger and French fries were way better, so at least every order wasn’t a total disappointment. I also bought a bottle of wine during the stay and returned home with it. I still have it now, a little souvenir from the weekend.
Sometimes a Short Escape Is Enough
This wasn’t a trip filled with excursions, sightseeing, or an extensive itinerary. It was simply a weekend devoted to being comfortable, receiving a good massage, soaking in a spa tub, and giving myself permission to slow down.
I may not have captured every part of it on camera, but perhaps that was appropriate. Some experiences are meant to be documented, while others are meant to be completely lived in.
It was quick, quiet, and exactly what I needed a weekend to exhale.
